| 内容記述 | The skin, as the outermost barrier of the body, is continuously exposed to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Sun exposure has been linked to several pathological processes, including sunburn, skin aging, and skin cancer. UV radiation produces cell damages not only directly but also through the generation of active oxygen species. It is now known that various types of inhibitors that act against oxidative stress exist in our daily foods, and they are believed to have an important role in reducing the risks of mutagenesis and carcinogenesis. Then many studies have concentrated on the ability of antioxidant nutrients to prevent tissue damage induced by UV irradiation. In this review,recent understanding about the roles played by several nutrients in keratinocytes is discussed. In particular, we will address the mechanisms accounting for protection against oxidative stress and the mechanisms involved in antioxidant nutrient maintenance. | |||||||||||||||||||||
